The Word Made Flesh: Part 61—Remember the Context: Made Well to Sin No More
2026-06-07 | John 5:1-30 | The Word Made Flesh
In Part 61 of The Word Made Flesh, we return to the healing of the man at the pool of Bethesda and remember the context of Christ’s great declarations in John 5. The miracle was not merely about physical healing, but about the deeper work of Christ in making sinners whole. When Jesus later found the man in the temple and said, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you,” He revealed the true purpose of the miracle: holiness.
Christ did not come merely to improve our earthly circumstances, remove our pain, or make our lives more comfortable. He came to save us from sin, give life to the dead, forgive the guilty, and make for Himself a holy people. This sermon calls us to hear the voice of Christ with seriousness and hope: repent, believe, rise, walk, and sin no more—not by our own strength, but by the grace of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.
